Announcing Women Walking West Programs and Events.
Women Walking West (W3) works with foreign born women to help them advance their educational pursuits.
To enhance these efforts, W3 introduces the five categories of programming that align with our focus to enrich and engage our community. All of our programs are free, and will either be virtual or in-person. We do not require you to become a Mentee or a Mentor to participate, meaning, anyone with an interest in these programs are welcome to RSVP and join in.
We have a Calendar Of Events on our website and are continually updating it for the Women Walking West Programs and Events. Here is a description of our event categories
| Women in Leadership – This series will feature women with journey’s in life that have led them into successful leadership roles. If you know of any foreign-born or minority women in leadership that would be willing to share their stories in our virtual platform, please let us know! |
| Workforce Readiness – Our mission includes assisting foreign-born women prepare for the workforce. That may include resume writing, financial guidance, or presenting opportunities in various, high-demand fields that need skills for them. This series will provide much guidance to help achieve career success. |
| Projects in STEM – A growing field is one with Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or STEM skills. Learn about a variety of fields in STEM including robotics, software development, cybersecurity, healthcare, engineering, and data science which are all advancing and in high demand. |
| Everyday English Program – Building English speaking and communications skills are critical for foreign born women. We meet virtually every other Friday from 9:30-11:00 am EST to practice speaking and reading Everyday English. The course will cover topics relevant to living here in America. | Community Engagement – Social engagements are healthy and we are all for it! Women Walking West will have a summer and fall event. Every summer we have a Potluck Pool Party, and in the fall with have our annual RISE Gala (Reach, Include, Support, Educate). In 2026, we celebrate our 7th annual gala and have great new features planned. We appreciate opportunities to meet our amazing community members face to face. |
