Success Stories

Women Walking West (W3) depends heavily on the work and commitment of its volunteer mentors who are selected based on their level of education and their academic or industrial experience. The approval process to accept a volunteer mentor is comprehensive in order to make sure they are competent in their field of expertise and also possess a high level of integrity that matches the values established by W3. When women contact W3, they are assigned to a Mentor that will monitor and assist in their progress until each woman’s goal is met. Below are examples of services provided by Women Walking West: 

Viktoria Tara from the country of Kazakhstan received scholarship from Women Walking West 

Viktoria Tara from the country of Kazakhstan received scholarship from Women Walking West to continue her education at Central Ohio Technical Colleges majoring in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. The scholarship was awarded by to Tara by Dr. George Sehi Women Walking West Board Chair and Dr. Bonnie Coe, President of Central Ohio Technical College. 

Samantha Low Receives Scholarship 

Dr. George Sehi, Women Walking West Board Chair, and Dr. Bonnie Coe, President of Central Ohio Technical College, presented a Certificate of Achievement to Samantha Low for receiving a scholarship from Women Walking West. Samantha is studying Cardiovascular Sonography at Central Ohio Technical College. 

U.S. Bank supports Women Walking West 

The Women Walking West Board presented a Certificate of Appreciation to US Bank for their support and sponsorship. W3 Sponsors Tale of Rumi Concert 

Women Walking West was one of the sponsors for the Tale of Rumi Concert held at the Cincinnati Creative and Preforming Arts Center, on Saturday night February 13th, 2016. Representing Women Walking West were three board members, from left to right, Dr. Masoud Ghohestani, Dr. Vijaya Reddy and Dr. George Sehi. 

$1000 scholarship to Jung Breitfelder 

Sinclair Community College student from South Korea was awarded scholarship through Women Walking West. Dr. George Sehi, Women Walking West Board Chair and Dr. DeAnn Hurtado, Associate Dean of Sinclair Community College Courseview campus, presented a $1000 scholarship to Jung Breitfelder, who is pursuing an associate degree in Business. 

Chase Bank Supports Women Walking West 

Mr. Rick Casey, Market Director at Chase Wealth Management. Presented a check to Dr. George Sehi, Women Walking West Board Chair, to support the organization’s scholarship fund. 

Chinese Student Receives Scholarship 

On Tuesday, November 17, 2015 Women Walking West awarded Lin Xu its first scholarship. Ms. Lin Xu will be attending Central Ohio Technical College in the spring term of 2016, majoring in sonography. 

Dave Beatrice receives Certificate of Appreciation 

On November 2, 2015, the Woman Walking West board members, Dr. George Sehi and Dwight Packard awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to Dave Beatrice, IT Administrator, for developing a customized software and for his commitment to the mission of the organization.
